A Brief Eyewitness History of Faith Bible Fellowship

In the early 1960’s, a group of believers lead by God’s Spirit and Brother Lacy Buffalo were meeting in a house on Fayetteville Road in Raleigh, North Carolina, planning to start a church in the local area.  They had a conservative view of scripture and God’s Sovereign Grace.  Most of the group were from an Independent Baptist background and were interested in starting an Independent Baptist Church in the south Raleigh area.

At the same time, in God’s providence, a man from the Brethren Assemblies, Brother William McNeil, recently located in the Raleigh area from Scotland, was interested in starting a Brethren Assembly in the same area.

God drew the small group of believers and Brother McNeil together in 1966. After meeting with Brother McNeil a couple of times, they began meeting as Faith Bible Fellowship in a house they owned on Fayetteville Road.  The meeting was based on the teaching of God’s Word in Acts 2:41- 42:

The Lord blessed their endeavors and in 1974 they erected a building at 5800 Fayetteville Road, now 1905 Garner Glen Drive, in Raleigh, NC.  In 1991 the building was remodeled to its present size.

Since then, founding elders Lacy Buffalo and William McNeil have passed away but the Spirit of God is still working and, by God’s Grace, we are still carrying on the same Bible-based meeting today.

We welcome all visitors at Faith Bible Fellowship!
